The exhibition project Middle Gate II – The Story of Dymphna is a collaboration between M HKA (Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp) and the cultural centre de Werft in Geel. Middle Gate II is the follow up to the exhibition Middle Gate, curated by Jan Hoet in Geel in 2013. The exhibition concept is closely tied to the legend of the holy Dymphna, saint of the possessed, the mentally ill and patroness against epilepsy and insanity. The legend of Dymphna shares a strong connection to the identity of Geel, "the charitable city".

"In “Dance of the7 Veils”, a fragment of Vanrunxt’s play “Sur scène”, Marc dances his solo in a park in Schilde. Van Kerckhoven films the six minutes choreography in one take. For three successive days, at six in the morning, at noon and at six in the evening, this scenario is repeated.  These three takes are superimposed.  The images are recast in unreal colors. The lyrical soundtrack is composed by the outdoor lowkey camerarecording of Strauss, injected with the nervous sound of the camera manipulation and the natural sound of birds chirping on three different moments on a summer day."
