Joëlle Tuerlinckx
Two overall themes from the ACADEMY project were centre stage in the exhibition ACADEMY. Learning from Art (M HKA, 2006). First, that of the school or academy, the place where art is taught in a practical as well as a theoretical way. And, secondly, that of art as a pedagogical experience. Because learning is a life-long and life-wide process that should not be limited to the boundaries of schools and academies. The world of art is a place par excellence where this process can flourish to its maximum and can assume the function of an experimental learning environment. A great deal can be taught by the work of art, the artist, the place where it is exhibited [e.g. the museum], and art in general.
The contribution of Joëlle Tuerlinckx resumes today in MUHKADEMIE. Joëlle Tuerlinckx created with Learning from Art, Instant Academy a personal tribute to her teacher.
