The exhibition project Middle Gate II – The Story of Dymphna is a collaboration between M HKA (Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp) and the cultural centre de Werft in Geel. Middle Gate II is the follow up to the exhibition Middle Gate, curated by Jan Hoet in Geel in 2013. The exhibition concept is closely tied to the legend of the holy Dymphna, saint of the possessed, the mentally ill and patroness against epilepsy and insanity. The legend of Dymphna shares a strong connection to the identity of Geel, "the charitable city".

MesuRAGE de la place Saint-Lambert, Liège , 1980
Performance

26 - 28.04.1980 This time, ORLAN's mesuRAGE was requested by a neighborhood association in Liège, in order to campaign against a new urban development project. This action lasted four days and included the presence of a bulldozer (hired by the artist herself) which carried the ORLAN-body around.

26 - 28.04.1980 This action in Liège assumed a more political and publicized nature. ORLAN’s performance was solicited by a neighborhood association that was campaigning to protect a square under threat due to lack of a development project. Over a four-day period, ORLAN physically committed herself to this cause. She called on a bulldozer, the very machine used to demolish the square, to carry the ORLAN-Body - like rubble - from one spot to another.
