Het tentoonstellingsproject Middle Gate II – Het verhaal van Dimpna is een samenwerking tussen het M HKA, Museum van Hedendaagse Kunst Antwerpen, en cultuurcentrum de Werft in Geel. Middle Gate II is het vervolg op de tentoonstelling Middle Gate van Jan Hoet in Geel in 2013. Het concept van de tentoonstelling is nauw verweven met de legende van de heilige Dimpna, de patrones van de bezetenen en geesteszieken, en de beschermheilige tegen epilepsie en krankzinnigheid. De legende van Dimpna is sterk verbonden met de identiteit van de stad Geel, “de barmhartige stede”.

Deze reeks fragiele (tekst)collages zijn een bijzondere zijsprong in het oeuvre van Evgeny Granilshchikov en maken deel uit van zijn inzet om totaalinstallaties te maken waarbij filmfragmenten, interieurelementen en diverse artistieke vormen kunnen samengaan. Zoals zijn films zoeken ze betekenisgeving op de rand van communicatie.
